David Cosma Cristofor in Evans GP racewear

Evans GP is pleased to confirm that David Cosma Cristofor will join the team for the opening round of Formula Trophy Malaysia, taking place at Sepang International Circuit on 2–4 October 2026.

The Romanian driver arrives in Malaysia following a strong 2026 campaign in Europe and the Middle East. Cosma Cristofor opened the year competing with PREMA Racing in UAE4, securing two podium finishes on his way to fifth in the championship standings, before continuing with the Italian Formula 4 Championship.

He currently sits second in the 2026 Italian F4 Championship standings, having established himself as a regular front-running contender during his second season of Formula 4 competition.

Cosma Cristofor will now make his first appearance with Evans GP at Sepang as part of the opening Formula Trophy Malaysia event, which forms part of the Formula 1 weekend. The championship begins on 2–4 October before returning to Sepang for further rounds later in the year.

David Cosma Cristofor said:

“It will be a new challenge for me, but I’ve had a lot of Formula 4 racing this season and I’m looking forward to bringing that experience into the weekend.

“Sepang is a circuit I’m excited to race at, particularly as part of the Formula 1 weekend, and I’m looking forward to getting started with the team.”

The Formula Trophy Malaysia opener takes place at Sepang International Circuit from 2–4 October 2026.
