Evans GP is pleased to confirm Ben Nguyen will join the team for the opening round of the 2026 Formula Trophy Malaysia at Sepang International Circuit, before also representing Evans GP at the Macau Grand Prix F4 World Cup in November.

Nguyen returns to Formula 4 competition in Southeast Asia after competing in the Southeast Asian F4 Championship during the 2025 season and brings further experience following an extensive programme with Evans GP throughout 2026.
The Vietnamese driver competed with Evans GP in the UAE earlier this year and has continued to work closely with the team through a regular testing programme at Sepang International Circuit.
Throughout the year, Nguyen has completed significant mileage with Evans GP in both Formula 4 and Formula Regional machinery, providing valuable experience across the two categories while continuing his development with the team’s engineers and mechanics.
Nguyen will return to Formula 4 competition for Round 1 of the Formula Trophy Malaysia on 2–4 October, with the opening event taking place as part of the Formula 1 weekend at Sepang.
He will then join Evans GP for the 2026 Macau Grand Prix F4 World Cup on 19–22 November, extending his programme with the team to one of the most prestigious and demanding street-circuit events on the international motorsport calendar.
Nguyen said:
“It’s been a while since I’ve had the opportunity to race in Southeast Asia, so to return with a Formula 1 support weekend at my favourite circuit, Sepang, and then compete at the prestigious Macau World Cup is an incredible opportunity.
“I’m really looking forward to both events and to continuing the work we’ve been doing with Evans GP throughout the year.”
Evans GP Team Principal Joshua Evans said:
“Ben has spent a lot of time with us this year and we’re very pleased to have him joining us for the opening round of Formula Trophy Malaysia.
“He raced in the Southeast Asian F4 Championship last year, so he already has experience racing in the region. Since then, we’ve worked with him in the UAE and extensively at Sepang throughout this year.
“He’s done a lot of mileage with us in both Formula 4 and Formula Regional, and we’ve seen good development during that time. He knows the team extremely well, he knows Sepang and he has built a good relationship with everyone around him.
“It’s also great to have Ben joining us for Macau in November. Macau is a very different challenge and a significant event for any young driver, so racing at Sepang in October will be an important part of his preparation before we head there.
“We’re looking forward to having Ben back racing with us at Sepang and then taking on the challenge of Macau together.”
Nguyen will race with Evans GP in the opening Formula Trophy Malaysia event at Sepang International Circuit on 2–4 October, before joining the team for the Macau Grand Prix F4 World Cup on 19–22 November.
Further Evans GP driver announcements will follow ahead of the Formula Trophy Malaysia opening round.
