Evans GP is pleased to confirm that Rafael Vaessen will contest the full 2026 Formula 4 South East Asia Championship with the team, following the completion of his recent UAE F4 campaign.

Vaessen first joined Evans GP for the final round of the 2025 FIA Formula 4 South East Asia Championship, where he integrated quickly into the team and demonstrated clear progression across the weekend. Earlier this year, he also competed in the final two events of the UAE F4 Championship, which has now concluded, showing encouraging pace and positive development as he adapted to new circuits and conditions.

That additional race experience provided valuable mileage in a competitive environment and allowed him to further refine his technical understanding and racecraft ahead of a full-season commitment in South East Asia.

Across his appearances with Evans GP to date, Vaessen has demonstrated a disciplined and professional approach to his development, working effectively with the engineering group and providing clear, structured feedback. The combined experience from both SEA and UAE competition establishes a solid foundation heading into a complete F4 SEA campaign in 2026.

Joshua Evans, Team Principal, Evans GP:

“Rafael’s debut with us in F4 SEA at the end of 2025 was very positive. He settled into the team quickly and showed steady improvement throughout the weekend. His participation in the final two rounds of the UAE F4 Championship this year was also important, as it gave him further race mileage and demonstrated encouraging signs of progression. With a full F4 SEA programme ahead, we can now focus on building consistency and performance across the year.”

Rafael Vaessen:

“I’m pleased to be continuing with Evans GP for a full season in the F4 SEA Championship. My first race weekend with the team gave me confidence in the working environment, and competing in the final two rounds of the UAE F4 Championship helped me gain more experience and momentum. I’m looking forward to building on that across a full season.”

Further information on Evans GP’s 2026 programmes and additional driver announcements will follow in the coming days.
