Northamptonshire, UK – September 4, 2023 — Evans GP is pleased to announce the strategic addition of Costa Toparis to their racing team. The accomplished Australian karting champion brings a proven track record of multiple championship wins in both Australia and Canada, adding a new dimension to the team’s competitive edge. With an impressive debut season in cars with Rodin Carlin in GB3, Toparis is now set to extend his motorsport journey in the 2023 Formula Regional Asia Championship and 2024 Formula Regional Middle East Championship.

Costa Toparis boasts an impressive karting record, which includes winning the Australian Rotax and KA2 Elite Junior Championships, as well as the Canadian Rotax Championship. The Ferrari Driver Academy finalist’s achievements also extend to setting a fastest lap in the World Rotax Final, where he finished third, securing a pole position in his debut F4 race at just 15 years old, and representing Australia at the FIA World Motorsport Games.

Toparis smoothly executed his transition to car racing throughout his inaugural year in the 2023 GB3 Championship, where he showcased a remarkable ability to adapt and compete at a high level against teammates in their second season of the series.

“We are pleased to welcome Costa Toparis to the Evans GP team,” commented Evans GP Team Principal Joshua Evans. “His proven success in karting, coupled with his promising start in the GB3 series, aligns well with our team’s commitment to nurturing emerging talents. As we anticipate his participation in the Formula Regional Asia Championship and Formula Regional Middle East Championship, we look forward to seeing Costa contribute to our collective success.”

“I’m really looking forward to expanding my experience on world class circuits and excited about visiting China for the first time,” said the 16-year-old Toparis.  “The prestigious Asian and UAE F3 series will be great preparation for the 2024 season, and I am thrilled to be working with Evans GP who are a force to race with on the circuit.”
