Brands Hatch, UK – Evans GP driver Kai Daryanani achieved his maiden win in motorsport at the renowned Brands Hatch circuit to round off a strong Round 6 of the 2023 GB4 Championship.
Daryanani’s debut victory
Starting from pole position in Race 3, Daryanani drove exceptionally to maintain the lead of the race from lights to flag – ultimately clinching victory with a three-second advantage over his nearest competitor. In doing so, he became the second Evans GP driver to win this season, after Cooper Webster’s double victory at Snetterton.
“My first race win in motorsports history for me,” Daryanani said. “Every lap I was trying to get it over, I was trying to get it home. I saw the gap and I monitored it. As I came over the final lap… I don’t know what to say. I’m speechless to be honest. My Dad’s here, and I’ve got my coach – it’s really emotional today.”
He continued, “I had an incident in Race 2 and the car was badly damaged, but the team put it together so well, and for that I’m so proud of them and so grateful that they were able to put it together. A great race, a great result.”
Two wins, two continents

Daryanani’s win mirrors the success of Evans GP‘s sister team, DW Evans GT, during the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia Shanghai round over the same weekend.
DW Evans GT drivers Dan Wells and Oscar Lee won in Pro-Am and claimed second place overall in Race 2, following their impressive Pro-Am and overall podium finishes in Race 1.
Achieving two race victories across two continents over the same weekend is a truly historic achievement that reflects both teams’ hard work and dedication.
Strong showings by Webster and Lee

Cooper Webster secured two more podium finishes during the weekend to bring his season tally up to twelve. His strong performances have consolidated his second place within the drivers’ standings, with Motorsport Australia describing him as “[leading] Aussies overseas”.
Meanwhile, Thomas Lee showcased significant performance improvements throughout the weekend, achieving several personal bests around a technically challenging circuit.
With Evans GP’s drivers not having conducted prior testing on the full Brands Hatch GP layout prior to qualifying on Saturday, the team’s results this weekend were even more remarkable.
Evans GP’s Team Principal, Joshua Evans, said: “We’re proud of Kai achieving his first career win at Brands Hatch.
“With no prior testing on the GP circuit prior to qualifying, this weekend was always going to be a challenge – but the determination and hard work by our team and drivers has shone through.”
Evans GP looks ahead to the final round of the 2023 GB4 Championship at Donington Park on the 21-22 October.
