Melbourne, Australia –

Evans GP is pleased to announce the signing of front running S5000 pilot Cooper Webster, who will join its GB4 team for the 2023 season.

The 19-year-old, from Kilmore in country Victoria, has been competing in the S5000 Australian Drivers Championship throughout 2021/22 with VERSA Motorsport narrowly finishing 3rd to James Golding and Joseph Mawson and 2nd in the Tasman series racking up 3 race wins and a lap record and previously raced in the National Hyundai Excel Championship, finishing 3rd in his debut season.

Prior to his step up to cars, Cooper competed in karting across Australia and Internationally, with the highlights being crowned Australian KA4 Champion, winning a heat at the IAME International Final at LeMans, and claiming 5 state title crowns. Cooper also has a strong background in online racing and is a member of the Oracle Red Bull Racing Esports team.

Cooper Webster: “I am really excited to join Evans GP for the 2023 GB4 Championship. It’s an amazing opportunity to race in the UK on some world class tracks and against some top drivers. For sure it will be a big challenge, but I am ready to give it everything and can’t wait to get the season started.”

“The Evans team have a successful track record having achieved 2nd in the Formula Regional Asia Team Championship in their debut season last year. They also scored multiple race wins and podiums with different drivers so I think we can achieve some good results together.”

Team Owner Josh Evans: “We are really looking forward to working with Cooper for the upcoming season. He has been performing well in Australia, with a strong karting background and his transition to cars has been a real standout. He’s already achieved several wins in the S5000 this year, so he’s in good form heading into the GB4 season.

“It’s great to see Cooper join the growing list of young Aussies making the step-up to racing in the UK, following in the footsteps of the likes of Mark Webber, Will Power, Daniel Ricciardo, James Courtney, Marcos Ambrose, Russell Ingall, Tim Blanchard, Scott Pye, Will Davison, Thomas Randle, Jack Doohan and Australia’s newest addition to the F1 grid, Oscar Piastri.”

Evans GP currently has one GB4 Championship seat available for the upcoming season, as well as testing opportunities with numerous circuits around the UK. For further information please contact team owner Josh Evans on

The GB4 Championship is a 7 event, 21 race series that runs primarily on the British GT and GB3 Championship programs, offering drivers an excellent platform to showcase their skills. Every race will also be available to watch free of charge on YouTube, Facebook and through the official championship websites.

The championship utilizes the Tatuus F4-T014 which is one of the most successful single-seater cars produced in recent decades, driven by current F1 stars Lando Norris, Lance Stroll, Mick Schumacher, Zhou Guanyu, Logan Sargent and Oscar Piastri to launch their careers. An important distinction from other entry level series is that the GB4 championship uses Pirelli tyres, giving drivers experience on the same brand of tyres used in GB3, F3, F2 and F1.
