India’s Muhammad Ibrahim will join Evans GP for a 3-day test at the Sepang International Circuit this month with the view of preparing for the 2021 FIA Asian Formula 3 Championship.
Muhammad’s previous experience in motorsport includes international karting, where he finished 5th at the Rotax World Karting Titles in Portugal, 2nd in the Asian Karting Championship, as well as selected events in the South East Asia Formula 4 Championship.
Lately Muhammad has been competing extensively in the virtual world where he has achieved multiple championship wins and official iRacing lap records.
Recently he achieved championship success in the Isolation F3 Series where he competed against many real-world drivers such as Lando Norris, Nicholas Latifi, Richard Verschoor, Felipe Drugovich and Liam Lawson.
Due to the global pandemic, Muhammad hasn’t driven a real-world race car since late last year so these three days will be important for his preparation for Formula 3.
Muhammad Ibrahim: “I am looking forward to jumping back in a car and blowing off the cobwebs. I’ve been keeping sharp during this lockdown period and feel I have really improved my driving on the simulator.
There are limited opportunities to test in the lead up to the Asian F3 Championship so I want to make sure I get the most from these few days.” Added the 17-year-old.
Josh Evans, Team Principal: “We are very excited to have Muhammad joining us. He brings a strong karting and sim racing background to the team and we look forward to further developing this over these next few months in preparation for our Asian F3 program.”
